Alex Berr

Alex Berr is an American comedian based in London. She has performed at festivals all over the world including the Edinburgh Fringe, Madison Comedy Week, and Fest (Florida). In London she hosts the show Under the Arch and performs narrative longform improv with Hoopla and the Free Association. She is the founder and host of the live science-comedy show Uncontrolled Variables. When she's not doing comedy she can be found researching lung diseases and telling anyone who will listen that she has a PhD.

 

Diya Basrai

Diya Basrai is a standup comedian and scientist based in Chicago by way of San Diego. He has performed at comedy festivals such as Red Clay and Seattle International Comedy Competition, and is a headline contributor for The Onion. When he’s not doing comedy, Diya works as a researcher at Northwestern, where he will be pursuing a PhD in neuroscience starting this fall. In his free time, he enjoys chess and rock climbing.

Kennen Hutchison

Kennen Hutchison is a virologist, educator, and science communicator based out of Chicago, IL. By day, he works as a Ph.D. candidate in the department of Microbiology and Immunology at Northwestern University researching neuroinvasive viruses. At night, you can catch him doubling as a science communicator on Instagram and a STEM educator and entertainer for multiple companies, such as TasteMade, The King of Random, Project Exploration, and his own production unit, Science with Kennen.

 

Dr. Gregory J. Matthews

Gregory J. Matthews is an associate professor of statistics and the director of the Center for Data Science and Consulting at Loyola University Chicago. He is a co-producer of the science-comedy show Uncontrolled Variables, and was recently named one of Chicago’s top ten comedy statisticians. He has performed improv with The Emeralds since 2016.
